Giving Back

The Law Office of Cy Weiner firm provided pro bono legal services to Michigan families who lost loved ones in the New York City World Trade Center attack and recovered millions of dollars in compensation for these families through the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. Recognition for these efforts was given in 2004 by the City of Southfield, American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Detroit News, for legal service contributions.

Individuals in the firm have also given extensively to the community and local charities. One particular charity called SOAR (Special Opportunity for Advanced Rehabilitation) was founded by a firm member and the law firm and its staff have regularly held fundraising events for amputees, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars since the charity’s founding more than 25 years ago.

The firm has regularly sponsored community events in the Detroit area including participation in a project known as Summer in the City for disadvantaged urban children.
