Cy Weiner has offices in Michigan and Illinois. His practice focuses on medical malpractice and personal injury. Below are a few of his notable cases.

Several of his cases have achieved national recognition. Cy was lead counsel for Wayne County in the “Firearms Litigation.” Wayne County sued gun manufacturers and dealers for distributing guns illegally throughout the metropolitan Detroit area. The case was featured on Dateline NBC. The theory against the gun industry of “willful blindness” was adopted by cities across the country.

Cy represented Columbian Judge Consuelo Sanchez Duran, who had indicted the world’s leading narcoterrorist, Pablo Escobar. Judge Duran became a target of hit squads after she took on the Columbian cocaine cartels and was secretly moved by the U.S. government to Detroit where she became an assassination target. Successful litigation against her private security detail was accomplished. An HBO movie was released about the matter.

Cy also has successfully handled pharmaceutical and lawsuits against the manufacturers of Vioxx, “FenPhen,” Ephedrine, and Sulzer hip implants, among others. His office helped obtain compensation for these victims of defective drugs and devices.

Cy is most proud of having provided legal service to Michigan families who lost loved ones in the 9-11 World Trade Center attack and recovered millions of dollars in compensation for these families.
